How to put in contact lenses in colors

Step 1: Wash and dry your hands, then gently lift the contact lens from the packet

With clean, dry hands, gently lift the contact lens out of the packet onto your fingertip and make sure it’s the right way round.

Step 2: Hold your upper eyelid and lashes against your brow, pull down your lower lid and place the lens over your iris. Alternatively, look another direction and place the lens on the white of your eyes (sclera)

With the first two fingers of your dominant hand, hold your upper eyelid firmly against your brow. Use the middle finger of your other hand to pull down your lower lid, and the first finger to gently place the lens over your iris.

Step 3: Settle the lens in place by looking up and down, then squeeze your eyes closed

Once the lens is in place, look left, right, up and down to allow it to settle into place, then slowly release your eyelid and squeeze your eyes closed.

Step 4: Repeat these steps for the other eye and your contact lenses are in place

Repeat these steps for the other eye, that’s all there is to it!

Preparation

Wash and dry your hands before touching your contact lenses. Start with the same eye every time, as this will stop you from mixing up the lenses.

Checking your lenses

Open the packet and gently lift the lens out, onto your fingertip. Is the contact lenses in colors the right way round? If the edges are flared and the lens is saucer-shaped, it’s inside out. Gently flip the lens over on your finger to correct it; you should see that it’s cup-shaped, with smooth edges. Never wear a split lens, even if you’re down to your last pair.

Cleaning your pattern colored contacts

If you get dirt or makeup on a hot contact lenses  while preparing to put it in, clean it in a little multipurpose solution, to avoid irritation and discomfort.

Settling the lens in place

Once the contact lens is sitting on your iris, look left, right, up and down, then slowly release your eyelid and squeeze your eyes closed. Your contact lens should settle comfortably into place.

Repeat for the other eye

Now your contact lens is in place, repeat these steps for the other eye. See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?
